The Holiday Inn Express is on the site of the Steffen's Ice Cream building at 101 E Main. The historic building's proposed demolition was not well received. Developers believed the historic building was beyond salvage. After suggestions from Bricktown Urban Design, the design was redrawn with 100% brick exterior. Developer will try to salvage portions of the historic facade.

2 129 E Main O+Rt 3 Proposed

A building purchased by Allen Contracting in 2008 is being renovated and expanded as office space.

3 The Factory R+O+Rt 12 Dead #units

The Factory was a proposed redevelopment and new construction development totalling $40 million designed by TAP Architecture. Financing was not found and the development never happened. The property is was purchased by builder Jeff Moore, who bought the entire block for $10.7 million.

4 Candy Factory O+Rt 8 U/C 68,000 sf

This renovation by Chuck Ainsworth will provide new retail and office space in Bricktown. As of 2/15/09, floors 2-6 were preleased. The project originally included residential loft units.

5 American Banjo Museum S 2 U/C 21,000 sf

The museum is moving from Guthrie to 9 E Sheridan in Bricktown. It has a collection of over 300 instruments. The facility will include a performance theater, Shakey's Pizza Parlor replica, classrooms, offices, and a gift shop. Website.

6 2 and 12 E California R+Rt+O 2-3 U/C

The adjacent 2 and 12 E California buildings are directly on the canal. The 12 E California building is currently the home of Zio's. Developers Harding & Shelton are converting the mostly abandoned warehouses into retail, office, and residential space.

7 Cotton Exchange R+Rt+O 12 Dead 66r 300,000 sf

The Cotton Exchange was proposed in 2007 by Gary Cotton for the site at the bend in the canal through historic Bricktown. It included a 12-story retail/residential building on the large site with 66 condominiums, an enclosed parking garage, and rooftop pool. A second 4-story retail and office building would have been built on the opposite side of the canal. Financing was not secured and the project is currently dead.

Small, four-loft modern renovation with a ground floor retail space initially occupied by BrewHaHa coffee.

10 Hampton Inn H 9 U/C 200h

This 9-story hotel began its approval and construction process in 2005. Originally featured more EIFS stucco with a lit elevator tower. Design committees sent it back to the drawing board to remove some EIFS, and they eliminated the lit tower to make up the costs of extra brick. The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2009 as the tallest building in Bricktown.

11 Bricktown Fire Station P 1 Proposed

The Bricktown Fire Station will be a $2.7 million facility at Lincoln and Sheridan. Preliminary designs have been drafted. Early criticisms will probably lead to redesigns to meet the standards of Bricktown Urban Design. More Information

12 Bricktown Village O+H+Rt+R 2-4 Dead Unknown

Project is dead. Bob Funk and Scott Pruitt wanted to build a dense mixed-use village on the Coca-Cola Events Center Parking Lot and a highrise hotel on the small Ballpark parking lot across the street. The city-owned parking lot could only be developed if a Request for Proposals was opened allowing other developers to potentially step in, and the project died.

13 Candlewood Hotel and Suites H 7 Proposed 125h

The building was proposed in summer 2008 and finally approved fall 2008 with 80% brick masonry construction. Two retail buildings are also included in the proposal.

14 The Centennial on the Canal R+Rt 5 Complete 30r

This Lower Bricktown residential development began construction in 2006. It had high sales for the luxury condominium units. A rooftop pool and fitness center, and underground parking are amenities. Retail space is on the Canal Level and Street Level, including the Redpin Bowling Lounge, In the Raw Sushi, Bolero Restaurant, Starbucks, and Lit Clothing.

15 Harkins Theater S 1 Complete

A 16-screen movie theater including the large format Cine Capri screen, by Arizona-based Harkins.

22 Bass Pro Shops Rt 1 Proposed

The Bass Pro was one of the first developed sites in Lower Bricktown. Taxpayer money was used to build the structure, at great controversy, and the City of Oklahoma City now leases the space to Bass Pro. It is a large department store specializing in outdoor, hunting, and fishing supplies as well as clothing and household items.
